Some of you know that I lion dance. And if you did not, well, now you know!
Anyway, in between turning in my pages for book, this New Year season, our team had 70+ performances, and I feel that it’s only fair for everyone to experience the fun of one day of our lives lion dancing every single day* in February. (*except for two days: 1) when we had a “snow day,” and 2) President’s Day.)
So, without further ado,
this is how I spent New Year’s Day (2/10):
Note: By “eat red envelopes,” I mean that we (in the lion) eat them, and then shove them into our shirts for safekeeping. You have to make sure you don’t shove it into your sweater, though. If you do that, then all the envelopes might all fall out, which is hilarious, but not good, because they are full of money.
An eye-dotting: It was a special ceremony where the priest dotted the eyes of three lions that we had never used before! Then they woke up for the first time. I was one of the 6 regular lions in the back.
Anyway, a belated Happy New Year to you!
My clothes were were stinky all month, but now they’ve had a chance to go in the wash. :)
